Master Ryan Porter top winner in Summer Round Robin

          Ryan Porter, a grad student at Stanford, was the winner of a very strong all-Master first section in the Summer Round Robins, held July 19-August 16.  Porter scored 3.5/5, defeating Tom Dorsch and Peter Thiel and drawing Mike Aigner, Mike Arne, and Richard Koepcke.

          In Group 2 there was a three-way tie for first between Ed Bogas, Robert Chan, and Carolyn Withgitt.  In Group 3, tied for first were Frantisek Uhrin and Nicolas Yap.

          In the fourth group. Lauren Goodkind scored an undefeated 4.5/5, yielding a draw only to Comet.  In Group 5, Li-Yao Miao scored a perfect 5/5!

          The sixth group was won by Justin Fang and Philipp Semenenko.  The seventh group was won by Kevin Chou.

          And Erika Arakaki-Barbanica was perfect in Group 8--5/5!

Quad winners on August 23

          The winners of their respective quads were #1--Michael Aigner, 3/3;  #2--Svjetoslav Olujic, 3/3;  #3--David Alzofon, Lawrence Kueffer, and Daichi Siegrist, 2/3;  #4--Tyson Mao, 3/3;  #5--Li-Yao Miao, 3/3;  #6 (sectional)--Grigoriy Trofimov.
