New BCC USCF Ratings REPORT Information Policy
On this page, I will provide a LINK to the latest BCC Ratings Report information for each tournament.
Included will be the BCC name of the tournament, or the corresponding tournament report name (which could be different), ending date of a report as the USCF should know it, the date I project that the USCF should receive the report by, the corresponding projected date that the tournament Ratings should appear on the USCF Ratings Website, & the corresponding USCF Weekly (unofficial) update or monthly Supplement (official) date. Some players like to follow their USCF Ratings closely, especially talented youth & others who work very hard to improve their Chess Rating, National Ranking in an Age Category, or milestone, e.g., reaching a major grade like National Master. Sometimes, USCF Supplement Ratings or Rankings are used by organizations or individuals for Invitational Chess Events, both National & International. At BCC, the Ratings Report process is now available online at this LINK. This information will be helpful for players, tracking their OFFICIAL USCF club tournament results. It will be updated as new details are known or confirmed by the USCF.
Please remember the following points:
1. Delays are sometimes caused by the USCF, & are unavoidable & normal.
2. The USCF Ratings Website attempts to give accurate info about the upcoming rating runs, Supplement or Weekly rating data, but that information can change daily. Also, rating updates may or may not occur every week or even every 2 weeks.
3. Every effort is made at the Club level & at the USCF level to provide accurate information about ratings, so try to be respectful & patient when inquiring about your rating info, if the need arises.
4. Once I've posted information on this site, about a particular Tournament Report submitted to the USCF, & the USCF has confirmed a specific date it was received, all questions or inquires concerning that tournament rating or report should be made ONLY directly to the USCF Ratings Dept, & NOT TO ME at BCC. If a Report has been USCF-CONFIRMED submitted, I'll only refer you to the USCF. Once a Report has been submitted, it's out of my hands. I do not have the time to deal with individual rating problems, as that's the job of the USCF Ratings Dept.
5. The USCF publishes a Monthly Supplement every 2 months, the most important being the Dec & June editions, which include all rated players. Monthly Supplement Ratings are always approximately 6-8 weeks behind real time events because of publication deadlines. All "Weekly updates" are UNOFFICIAL. Only the periodic Supplements are OFFICIAL RATINGS recognized by the USCF. (Sometimes, a Club may use an "unofficial rating" [recent weekly USCF rating] for tournament pairing purposes, in order to use the most current practical available rating.) The large weekend chess tournaments & National tournaments tend to use the latest published Supplement rating only.
6. I'll do my best to provide accurate BCC Ratings Report submission info, so that all BCC members can follow their Ratings, be assured of the fastest possible OFFICIAL USCF results, & have confidence that their chess efforts are being recognized.
Thanks to BCC members for your cooperation,
T.D. Scott Wilson & T.D. Tom Dorsch
